Hawkwood

Established: 1981

This community was named after the original land owners - John and Joseph Hawkwood. Hawkwood is located on the edge of the built-up area of northwest Calgary. It is bounded by Sarcee Trail to the east, John Laurie Boulevard to the south, Nose Hill Drive to the west and the Country Hills Boulevard to the north. These major transportation arteries provide good linkages to other parts of the city. The general landform character is that of a slightly rolling upland plateau which provides for some views of the Rocky Mountains and the city. Hawkwood was established in 1981 and the predominant land use is single family residential.
